I think the books are valuable resources for families, but I personally do not know anyone who is affected by such a loss. Any suggestions?

ANSWER:

Consider purchasing a book and donating it to an individual or organization that can benefit from the topic.

Examples of individuals or organizations to consider donating to include: TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors www.taps.org); teacher/educator or guidance counselor who works with children in grades 1-6; librarian; worship leader; local or state VFW or American Legion; non-profit that assists military families; military post library; military servicemember; military family member or family resource liaison/leader; or bereavement camps/centers.

Early Light Press donates a portion of the proceeds of book sales to selected organizations that help military families.

QUESTION:

Why is the FIeur-de-Lis symbol upside down in THAT'S MY HOPE: Featuring a Gallery of Multi-generational Artwork?

ANSWER:

With apologies to Laura Cotaya, student, artist, and Hurricane Katrina survivor who was commissioned to create the original artwork of the Fleur-de-Lis to represent the rebirth, rebuilding, and resilience in Louisiana -- Laura's beautiful artwork was dismounted from its frame for the printing process and was inadvertently flipped upside down. The editor regrets the error, ya hear?

Congratulations to Laura for her selection as an artist of New Orleans streetcar art. Click on this link to see Laura's -- you guessed it -- Fleur-de-Lis masterpiece.
